Archie MacGregor
Archie MacGregor is a retired teacher and actor. Archie has always enjoyed New York City and all the culture and diversity it has to offer. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, he appeared in the soap opera “Guiding Light” and was featured in the film “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.”
As a young man, Archie always knew he wanted to dedicate his life to teaching and assisting students. He graduated from Columbia College and has a graduate degree from Teachers College. Archie taught in several settings, including Brooklyn College where he was the Dean of Students for thirty years interacting with students of all backgrounds. Archie believes that a Catholic education is special because it teaches children how to succeed in life and really prepares them for higher education. Archie has been a generous and loyal supporter of the Be A Student’s Friend program by sponsoring several students who attend Inner-City assisted schools and has also left Inner-City in his estate plans.
Archie makes a point of visiting with the elementary school students at least once a year to give them much needed support and encouragement. Archie says that he “looks forward to being present at their respective high school graduations, and that the students give him so much more than he could ever give them.”
