Kelly Duffy & Valerie Sena

Kelly Duffy, an accountant, and Valerie Sena, an advertising executive, have been long time friends ever since they met at the University of Notre Dame, and as workplace professionals both of them understand the important story that numbers tell at Inner-City.

They initially encountered the success at Inner-City while volunteering for the Job Opportunities Program, where they were impressed by the bright, kind, and respectful Catholic school students. After learning about Inner City’s Be a Friend Program, they wanted to help students in need, initially they both worked together to share the cost of sponsoring one student, then over time they were able to support two students, and eventually a company match allowed them to help support a third student in need. Both Valerie and Kelly understand the importance of their financial support, and how they are changing lives by “taking away that obstacle” for families “who know a Catholic school is the best choice for their child”.

After their many years of volunteer work and support at Inner-City a common sentiment between the two seems to be, “through our shared commitment we have actually helped better each other”.
